The Basic Bible ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of our users, particularly families and children. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and shared when you use The Basic Bible mobile application and related services.

We may collect information you provide directly, including support or feedback messages submitted through the app or our website, narrator voice and display preferences you configure in settings, and other optional information you choose to enter.
If you use the Sermon Recording feature, audio you record is transmitted to our backend services for transcription and analysis. Sermon recordings and their transcripts are associated with your account and stored securely.
We may receive subscription and transaction-related status from third-party providers such as Apple and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full payment card details — that is handled entirely by Apple.
We may collect limited technical and usage information to operate and improve the app, such as app version, device type, feature usage patterns, and diagnostic information.
2. How We Use Information
We may use collected information to provide and operate The Basic Bible, deliver and personalize story narration and app experiences, process and store sermon recordings and AI-generated analyses, manage subscriptions and restore purchases, respond to support and feedback requests, improve app performance and reliability, and develop new stories, features, and content.
3. AI-Powered Features
The Basic Bible uses third-party AI services to power the Bible Search feature and the Sermon Analysis feature. Queries entered into Bible Search and audio or text submitted for sermon transcription and analysis may be processed by these third-party AI providers solely to operate these features and return results to you. We do not use this content to train AI models or share it with third parties beyond what is necessary to deliver the service.
4. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with third-party service providers that help operate the app, including subscription management (RevenueCat), cloud database and backend infrastructure (Supabase), AI and transcription services, and app distribution (Apple). These providers are bound by their own privacy terms and receive only the data they need to perform their services.
Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect the safety or rights of users and others, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
5. Children's Privacy
The Basic Bible is designed for family use and is intended for use by or with parental supervision for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. The app does not require account creation to use core story features. Sermon Recording requires an account and is intended for adult users.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will promptly review and address the situation.
6. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide app features, fulfill legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Sermon recordings and their analyses are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your sermon data by contacting us through the support form.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or alteration. AI calls and sermon data are routed through secure backend functions rather than processed directly on-device with exposed credentials. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices
You may choose which narrator voice to use and whether to enable dark or light mode. The Sermon Recording feature is entirely optional and requires you to initiate each recording. You may manage or cancel your Premium subscription at any time through your Apple App Store account settings. Cancelling a subscription will not delete any sermon data you have already recorded.
9. Third-Party Services
The Basic Bible relies on third-party services including Apple (App Store distribution, in-app purchases), RevenueCat (subscription management), Supabase (backend and database), and AI/transcription providers. Your use of these services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and may provide notice within the app or on our website. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
